Current Definition Community of Practice
Communities of practice are groups of practitioners who work as a community in a certain domain. One objective of DODEs is to support communities of practice through its domain-orientation which supports interaction at the level of the problem domain of the community of practice and not only on a compuational level. Virtual communities of practice are supported with web-based DODEs and with systems such as the Behavior Exchange and Dynasites.
